To mark our 60th birthday, the café inside Beatty Park has gone retro!
Our new-look café includes funky mid-century modern furniture, nostalgic wallpaper, retro television frames and vintage décor, including an old telephone, drinks trolley and record player.
“Beatty Park is an iconic centre with a rich history and a well-deserved reputation as a community hub,” said Mayor Emma Cole.
“It has gone from hosting athletes, to rock stars, to people from all around Perth who want to keep fit and healthy and who love the sense of community that comes with being a member.”
The reimagined café is just one way we’re commemorating our 60th. Staff have been sporting retro-inspired varsity jackets over the Winter, we’ve just starting selling ‘Sixty Years’ t-shirts and we’ve also been sharing a video each week as part of our ‘Sixty Years of Beatty Park’ series.
The Sixty Years campaign aims to take patrons on a trip down memory lane ahead of two big birthday events in November; a Sixties Sundowner featuring two tribute bands, and a Retro Family Fun Day featuring a huge line-up of entertainment for all ages.
