Established in 1962, we were purpose-built as the major aquatic venue for the VIIth British Empire and Commonwealth Games. Three days after the Games wrapped up, "Beatty Park Pool" opened to the public... and the rest is history!
We even moonlighted as Perth's go-to concert venue in the late 60s and 70s, hosting the likes of Santana, Deep Purple, The Bee Gees and more.
In 1994, Beatty Park officially became a leisure centre, adding a gym and group fitness into the mix.
Today, we're one of Perth's largest leisure centres, celebrating 60 years of swimming and staying active.
Watch this short film to relive our rich history and see why we're "still the real deal" today.
Beatty Park holds precious memories for generations of Perth people.
We spoke to 12 people about their connection with Beatty Park and the memories they cherish the most.
